Bit Spit #7 Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has become an industry unto it’s own. If you do a quick Google search on SEO, Organic SEO or Keywords, you’ll find hundreds of thousands of sites wherein the “experts” tout their in-depth knowledge of how they will be able to rocket your Website into the top-ten on the first page of a Google search.  What they may not tell you is that your placement will be based on a very specific set of keywords or keyword phrases.

Unfortunately, SEO and Keyword Optimization are not easy tasks. In fact, you might equate it to continually shooting at a moving target. What works one day, may in fact not work the very next day. Most search engines, Google included, are constantly being tweaked in order to provide search results that provide more and better information about the keyword or phrase being searched. Any company that tells you they have a “magic bullet” for Search Engine Optimization is simply not being truthful.  This is why we believe in taking a holistic approach to the business of SEO and Keywords in our Website development process.

Successful SEO and Keyword Optimization requires many things.  As we help you develop your Website, we’ll learn as much about your target audience as we can. Doing this helps us understand what they are looking for and how they look for it. Credible information is also important. If your site provides highly credible, fact-based information, search engines will rank your site higher than other sites providing similar information.

We’ll also look at how well your site is cross-linked with other Websites. Believe it or not, Google places higher value on sites that have links back from other sites. Keywords placed in proper context are also extremely important to higher search engine ranking. Many search engines actually downgrade or exclude sites that have too many keywords.

SEO and Keyword Optimization can be a daunting task. However, if you have the right experts helping you along the way, you’ll be surprised at how quickly your site will gain higher rankings. Visit us at www.upfrontbydesign.com to learn more about Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
